The Root Chakra
The root chakra is the chakra that grounds us to the Earth and to our origin and life source. This chakra coincides with physical awareness of the here and now as well as the feeling of comfort in all situations. If your root chakra is open, you will feel balanced, stable and secure in your everyday activities. You will not tend to distrust people for no reason and will feel a sense of comfort in your own skin. Your mind and body feel present in what is transpiring around you at this moment right now.

If your root chakra is not open you will begin to experience fear and nervousness. People with closed root chakras will often times feel unwelcome in most situations. If your root chakra is hyper-active you may have feelings of greediness and gravitate towards material things instead of what really matters. The Sacral Chakra - Svadhishthana
The sacral chakra regulates your feelings as well as your sexuality. When this chakra is open, your feelings are more easily released and can be rationally expressed without the fear of being over emotional or hyper sensitive. If the sacral chakra is fully balanced, one will feel outgoing and passionate with no sexual problems. When the sacral chakra is under-active, a person can become to unemotional or shut off to people and loved ones. If this chakra is hyper-active, a person will usually be highly sensitive and more emotional most of the time as well as a tendency to be overly sexual.
The Solar Plexus Chakra - Manipuira
The third chakra is the solar plexus and it regulates the feeling of confidence, especially in social settings. If the solar plexus is open a person will feel a sense of self confidence and dignity, allowing them to be more friendly and approachable. When this chakra is under-active a person will act more passive and can often be apprehensive, especially in group settings.

The Heart Chakra - Anahata
Sounds cliché, but the heart chakra is all about the feelings of love, passion, caring, and endearment. When the heart chakra is open, a person will act with compassion. They are usually always outgoing, friendly, and always trying to strengthen relationships. If this chakra is under-active, one will usually put off a cold or unfriendly vibe, shutting out others whether it be their loved ones or strangers. When the heart chakra is hyper-active a person may be overly “loving” or overbearing towards others so much so that they my suffocate them.
The Throat Chakra - Vishuddha
Your throat chakra is the energy center that regulates communication and the ability to express yourself. If the throat chakra is open, one will find that it is easy to express yourself which means that one may feel an urge to be creative and artful. When this chakra is under-active, a person may act shy and will not speak too much, especially in social environments.

If you find that a person tends to lie a lot, it is probably a sign that their throat chakra is blocked. When the throat chakra is over-active, a person will most likely speak way to much to the point of annoyance of the people around them. A person who’s throat chakra is over active will probably also be considered a bad listener.

The Third Eye Chakra - Ajna
Your third eye chakra is the energy center that enables insight. When this energy center is open, a person will experience clairvoyance, possibly ESP and will often have lucid dreams or even out of body experiences. It also gives you the ability to make insightful decisions and allow you to be more tuned with the spirit world and life force of the universe. When it is under-active, a person will not be inclined to think for themselves, rather looking to other people to think for them.

Unsure of what to believe, a person who’s third eye is blocked will most likely seem confused. When this chakra is hyper-active, a person will seem to live in an imaginary world all day long; out of touch with reality. They could possibly even experience daydreams and hallucinations.
